Belfast Whiskey WeekFood / Whiskey Pairing
Mon 27 July★3pm – 5pm★The Jeggy Nettle
Sweet meets smoky. The Jeggy Nettle’s playful pairing of fresh donuts and whiskey is back for Belfast Whiskey Week — and it remains one of the happiest hours on the whole programme.
Stranmillis takes its name from the Irish an Sruthán Milis — “the sweet stream” — and on Monday afternoon the neighbourhood will live up to it. The Jeggy Nettle is Stranmillis’s favourite neighbourhood whiskey bar, born of the same family as Muriel’s and The Spaniard, and the whiskey shelf is the proof: this is a room that knows its drams.
Each pour is matched to a fresh donut — glazed sugar against oak, smoke and spice. It’s a pairing that shouldn’t work and absolutely does, and it’s the gentlest possible way to sharpen your palate for the week ahead.
Important: This is an 18+ event. ID may be required on arrival.
