Arriving to the Gaeltacht, little thatched cottages with their doors open and a constant fire burning. The warm smell of peat in the air. That homely smell that makes you feel where you belong. Ireland has a way of welcoming you through your nose. We've been waiting 5,000 years for this peat to accumulate.

Each one of our distilleries over the past few hundred years would have been peat fired; peated Irish whiskey would have been a staple of 19th and 20th century Ireland.

Let's take a deep dive into peated whiskeys and how they are complex, flavoursome and full of character, and are complemented by fresh fruits, botanicals and award winning mixers from Longbridge Drinks.
