Belfast Whiskey Week

Whiskey Lunch: Three Plates, Three Drams with County Down's Finest — Thursday 30 July

£35.00

Whiskey Lunch: Three Plates, Three Drams

The final Three Plates, Three Drams of the week — and we’re saving a county for it.

The Morning Star has been feeding Belfast from its perch above Pottinger’s Entry since the 1800s — a proper Victorian pub up a cobbled entry off Ann Street, with a kitchen that takes Ulster produce every bit as seriously as its whiskey shelf. For Belfast Whiskey Week it sets the table for our favourite lunchtime ritual: three small plates from that kitchen, each one matched to a dram.

Thursday’s lunch pours County Down. No county has done more for the Irish whiskey revival: from the Ards Peninsula to the foot of the Mournes, Down’s distillers have turned farmland and coastline into some of the most exciting whiskey on the island. Three pours from the county’s finest, matched plate by plate — a fitting last sitting for the week’s favourite lunch table.
