Some events arrive with a certain inevitability — you hear the pitch and you just know it's going to work. Jameson taking over Neighbourhood Cafe for an evening of bespoke burgers, ribs, wings and the world's best-selling Irish whiskey was exactly that kind of event. Session 28 of Belfast Whiskey Week 2024 wasn't a masterclass or a meditation on terroir; it was a summer party done properly, with serious whiskey at its heart.

About This Event

If you like Jameson, you'll LOVE Jameson's TakeOver of Neighbourhood Cafe. Neighbourhood Cafe will be bringing in one of Belfast's most sought after Burger Makers to create a bespoke menu for the evening. Burgers, Fries, Ribs and Wings are created in conjunction with the extensive Jameson range, imparting huge flavour and allowing a great combination and collaboration to exist. Jameson loves a party and so do we. Good vibes, good food and great whiskies; Summer fun indeed!

Looking Back

The setup was simple enough: Neighbourhood Cafe, a cosy and characterful spot in Belfast city centre, handed the keys over to Jameson and welcomed one of the city's most in-demand burger makers through the door. What followed was an evening that understood something fundamental about uisce beatha — that whiskey doesn't exist in isolation. It belongs at the table, beside food, beside conversation, beside the kind of good noise that a room full of happy people makes.

The bespoke menu had been built in genuine collaboration with the Jameson range, and that thoughtfulness showed. Burgers, fries, ribs and wings weren't just served alongside whiskey — they'd been developed with it, marinades and glazes drawing out the triple-distilled smoothness that Jameson is rightly celebrated for. There's a reason the brand has introduced more people to Irish whiskey than anything else before or since: it meets you where you are, and on this night, it met a Belfast crowd right at the intersection of comfort food and genuine quality.

Jameson's presence at BWW 2024 was considerable — dedicated showcase sessions and experience takeovers across the festival — and this event captured the spirit of what the brand does best: inclusivity without compromise. The room was relaxed, the pours were generous, and the atmosphere had that easy warmth that a good Belfast evening tends to produce when the ingredients are right. No pretension, no barriers — just good whiskey and the kind of food that makes you glad you showed up.

It's worth noting that the wider festival offered plenty of contrast for those who wanted to explore beyond the crowd-pleasers. Sessions exploring the Sexton single malt in depth or the remarkable Bushmills Causeway Collection gave BWW 2024 its depth and range. But there's a genuine place in any well-curated festival for an event that reminds you why you fell in love with whiskey in the first place — the craic, the company, the glass in your hand.

Session 28 was, in the end, exactly what it promised: good vibes, good food, and great whiskey. Sláinte to that.
